Village Education Support Internship in Tanzania

Työtehtävän kuvaus Summary
Art in Tanzania supports and develops initiatives by village women. The main activities are vocational training in English, IT, entrepreneurship, women's rights, and related subjects. We are also developing medical services and health information sessions.

Details
Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic natural scenery and wildlife.
Women's programs, volunteering, and internships.
Tanzania has many young mothers who need more education and financial support. In addition, densely populated areas complicate the struggle for livelihoods and the provision of care for these mothers' children.
Most women lack the opportunity to pursue an education that would enable them to fund and develop small businesses. Additionally, many of these women are under-empowered or unaware of their fundamental human rights, thus making young mothers vulnerable to abuse.
Art in Tanzania focuses on teaching women skills to start small businesses and create markets for their products. We also educate women on their rights and related topics to help them understand them in problematic situations. We focus on being both innovative and effective.
We are looking to hire multi-professional students and interns to support our work. We tailor the posts to the participant's focus, interests, and skills.
We look for innovation. Interns bring their ideas, which we use to strengthen the fieldwork. We encourage innovation and self-led creativity in the professional program approach.
We use teamwork to create opportunities. For example, one can teach how to start a horticulture business and find markets. The primary goal is to enhance small business skills through an educational approach and increase awareness of these skills. Of these skills
We also focus on raising awareness about women's issues through social media for the general Tanzanian population.
Work hours are 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, empowering our daily work with the communities.
Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work.
The start and end dates are flexible, as all programs are ongoing, with many having run since 1996.
You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours.
We typically have 15-40 students from diverse parts of the world, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate, as well as various professions.

Note that Erasmus+ funding can be applied for the Tanzania training. Contact your student office for more information about the grants.
