Do you have a couple years of experience in UI software development and enjoy working on various projects? Metatavu is now looking for a Software Developer (UI) to join their innovative and growing, currently 20 professionals’, open source software house in Mikkeli!

In this position you will be working on different client projects on user interface development. Content of the projects will be detailed depending on customers' needs and you get to define your position depending on your skills and interests. For example, if you like, you can work directly on the customer interface and participate in client meetings for defining requirements. If that's not your cup of tea, you can also focus more on coding itself. Even though we are searching with an UI developer focus, we are open also for fullstack developers and you can broaden your responsibilities to cover fullstack right away or you can grow to the role as time goes by.

This position provides the opportunity to work with different technologies and different kind of projects in various industries. The majority of customers are located in Finland and Metatavu has worked with a variety of clients across different industries. Some examples of past projects include developing a mobile app for a major retailer and creating a custom CMS for a media company. This task represents a valuable opportunity to engage with a diverse set of responsibilities and move between various projects. You can be sure that this position will keep you engaged and motivated throughout.

We are looking for a developer with a minimum of two years of experience in modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript, React and/or Angular to mention a few examples. You can also be a ready fullstack developer. We hope that you enjoy working in a dynamic work environment with diverse projects and the chance to work with different technologies. You will work closely with your team and we hope you have strong team and communications skills. The position is located in Metatavu’s headquarters in Mikkeli and we hope you are able to visit the office regularly even though we also support flexible remote work opportunity. We are preferably looking for a fulltime employee but we offer flexibility to work 80% work-time if your life situation requires that.

We require you to:
- Have at least a couple of years of relevant work experience (UI - and/or full stack development)
- Be familiar with TypeScript and some modern frontend framework like React or Angular
- Have proactive and independent approach to problem-solving and strong teamwork skills
- Have a full working proficiency in English

We consider as an asset:
- Experience from backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python
- Knowledge of DevOps or cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Relevant academic background
- Working proficiency in Finnish
